Pitching not enough in BP loss

Though both pitchers had solid outings, the Blooming Prairie Blossoms weren’t able to hang with New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Monday in New Richland.

“We’re definitely getting better,” said Blossoms head coach Paul Peterson. “We played a pretty solid game; we just had a couple plays we didn’t make.”

The Blossoms, now 1-6 on the season, fell to NRHEG 5-0.

“NRHEG’s pitcher pitched a great game, too,” Peterson said. “You’ve got to tip your hat to him.”

The Blossoms’ pitcher John Rumpza pitched a solid game, Peterson said; however, errors proved costly.

“We just had three or four costly errors, but he pitched a very good game,” Peterson said.

The Blossoms will play again at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Blooming Prairie against United South Central.
